{"id":37780,"date":"2025-07-03T12:34:58","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T11:34:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rmdkwikform.com\/?p=37780"},"modified":"2025-07-03T12:34:58","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T11:34:58","slug":"high-rise-health-safety-formwork-falsework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev01.rmdkwikform.com\/gb\/high-rise-health-safety-formwork-falsework\/","title":{"rendered":"High Rise Health &#038; Safety: Formwork &#038; Falsework"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Altrad RMD Kwikform discusses health and safety in high rise construction and how temporary works solutions can create a safer working environment.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>High rise construction poses significant health and safety threats to workers, with hazards such as being hit by falling debris and also the risk of falling. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Falls from height are the leading cause of death amongst workers in the UK, with a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hse.gov.uk\/statistics\/pdf\/fatalinjuries.pdf\">HSE report<\/a> revealing they accounted for 25% of all fatal injuries over the year. In the construction industry alone, falls from height made up 47% of all accidents, resulting in 29 fatal injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Formwork and falsework have a key role to play in safety in high-rise construction. As well as its enormous potential impact on the productivity of high-rise projects, it can have a major positive influence on safety too.<\/p>\n<p>We recently <a href=\"https:\/\/dev01.rmdkwikform.com\/global-high-rise-construction-report\/\">undertook a survey<\/a> which uncovered the opinions of leading general and specialist contractors and engineering consultants, to understand areas where temporary works can have a significant impact on improving health and safety in high-rise construction.<\/p>\n<p>There is a clear demand for safer methods of construction, and the survey shows that most respondents felt that both individuals and contractors need to do more, with a clear need for action on multiple fronts \u2013 contractor actions, personal responsibilities, and the need for safer methods of construction and for health and safety to be accorded priority.<\/p>\n<p>However, when it came to the most important features of a formwork and falsework system, respondents ranked safety features third behind ease and speed of erection and the labour hours required to assembly assemble? and dismantle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Altrad RMD Kwikform discusses health and safety in high rise construction and how temporary works solutions can create a safer working environment.\u00a0 High rise construction poses significant health and safety threats to workers, with hazards such...<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":21,"featured_media":37800,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"content-type":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[904,903],"class_list":["post-37780","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-company-news","tag-health-safety","tag-high-rise"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>News &amp;
